These last few months have been very emotional and energy draining for many of us, and naturally this has impacted on our heart chakra, big time.

The heart chakra; also known as the Anahata in Sanskrit, is the centre of love, peace, joy and compassion. It is the bridge that connects us to the spiritual and earth realms. It links us to everything and opens a channel of love to our self and everyone around us.

The heart chakra, our 4th Chakra is the only one to have 2 colours; green and pink. Green symbolises love we give to ourselves, pink the love we give to others. Self love is important, if we don’t love and care for ourselves, how can we possibly reach out to others, or even attract love to us.

An open and balanced Anahata allows us to freely love and forgive. A closed, unbalanced Anahata causes us to hold emotions of anger, hurt, fear, betrayal and hate. Physical symptoms relating to our heart, lungs and circulatory system start to occur.

Yoga is good for keeping this chakra balanced, as is laughter, sharing fun times with family and friends. It’s all about unconditional love, no judgements, no expectations, just love.

Crystals to use when working with our heart chakra are rose quartz, green calcite, emerald or clear quartz. Essential oils to use include rose, neroli, jasmine and ylang ylang.

Look into an animals eyes, there you will see unconditional love, expecting nothing but giving so much. The more we are able to smile and freely give to others the better we feel and the stronger our heart chakra will be. That is not to say we become an easy target for people to take advantage of.

Affirm;

  • I love myself unconditionally
  • I am open to giving and receiving love
  • I forgive myself for my past mistakes
